How'd you like Life is Strange? It's been getting a decent number of game of the year awards.

I wrapped up Fallout 4 on December 23rd. I clocked 97 hours with the game, although I am sure at least 5 of those involve walking very slowly to vendors because I’ll be damned if I’m dropping this crap I found. I wouldn't say I powered my way through the game, but by hour 50 I decided I was tired of side quests.

My character was focused on Luck, Agility and pistols. Long range combat was tough at times, but once I picked up a few pistol perks, I was killing most things with ease. I barely touched rocket launchers or automatic weapons.

I enjoyed the game, but I didn’t love it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have waited for a Steam sale. Maybe it's that I have spent so many hours with this series that I am finally burned out, or maybe something was missing from this game. From a design standpoint it's better than the last two games in virtually every way. The graphics look better. Looting is easier. Combat seemed to flow better, although VATS felt less useful this time around. The main story felt more personal than Fallout 3, although the Vegas story is still my favorite.

However, by the time the game was over, I was happy to be done with it. Part of it is that I am burned out on the series, and part of it is that the game felt very similar to the last two Fallout games. Had the game made some noticeable leaps in the core design I might feel differently, but I just don't feel the need to play it again any time soon.
